In life, we are always setting goals for ourselves and working to make them happen. This gives us focus and ensures that we use our time and energy efficiently and effectively. It also provides us with a sense of purpose and direction. We know where we are going and what we want to do. But quite often, due to forces outside our control, things do not go as we had planned—the flat tire on the way to the wedding, the unforeseen flu virus—and we have to adjust to a postponement or create a whole new set of circumstances. Even positive turns of fortune — an unexpected influx of cash or falling in love — require us to be flexible and to reconsider our plans and priorities, sometimes in the blink of an eye. This is what happens when life throws you a curve ball.
The ability to accept what is happening and let go of your original expectations is key when dealing with these unexpected turns of fate. We have a tendency to get stuck in our heads, clinging to an idea of how we think life should go, and we can have a hard time accepting anything that doesn’t comply with that idea. The fact is that life is unpredictable. The trip you thought was for business — and when the deal fell through, you got depressed — actually landed you at the airport two days earlier than planned so you could meet the love of your life. Your car breaks down, and you are late for an appointment. While it’s true that you never arrive at that important meeting, you end up spending a few relaxing hours with people you would never have met otherwise.
In order to keep us awake to opportunity and to teach us equanimity, the universe throws us the occasional curve ball. Remember that curve balls are not only life’s way of keeping us awake, which is a gift in and of itself; they are also often life’s way of bringing us wonderful surprises. Next time a curve ball comes your way, take a deep breath, say thank you, and open your mind to a new opportunity.

Whether one is twenty, forty, or sixty; whether one has succeeded, failed, or
just muddled along; whether yesterdaywas full of sun or storm, or one of those dull days with no weather at all, life begins each morning! ~Leigh Mitchell Hodges

It's possible to have too much in life. Too many clothes jade our appreciation for new ones; too much money can put us out of touch with life; too much free time can dull the edge of the soul. We need sometimes to come very near the bone so
that we can taste the marrow of life rather than its superfluities.~Joan Chittister

The confidence with which we employ our strengths is an important factor in our ability to achieve our potential because we are more apt to feel optimistic about our prospects when we believe in ourselves. To trust in oneself is to acknowledge that while there are many circumstances that can stand in the way of success, we are nonetheless up to the task of realizing our dreams. We are consequently unwilling to allow any one challenge to interfere with our ability to achieve our goals, whether in the short term or in the long term. When adversity rears its head in our lives, we simply struggle forward, secure in the knowledge that there is almost nothing in this world that can keep us from fulfilling our potential. You will feel sure of yourself as you pursue your purpose today because you believe in the inevitability of your success....I struggle at times to keep my confidence level up....I am reminded to take a moment and breathe....all is good in the world....even when everyone is telling me it is not...I desire a life of compassion and JOY- Confident in all that I create today!....loving the fabulousdailyom messages....Happy Monday Afternoon! xo David

Future gains come from our present thoughts for our minds send out energetic signals into the universe. Once we understand that our thought patterns, words, and actions are an integral part of what we wish to call forth into our lives, we can focus our attention on what we truly want rather than what we lack. This may seem easy at first, but it is natural for our minds to trick us into thinking self-defeating or negative thoughts. Simple affirmations, however, not only put us into a positive frame of mind, but they also train our minds, directing our attention to what we can, rather than can’t, do. Thinking about your future in optimistic terms will bring you everything you hope for today....ahh the fabulousdailyom speaks......

"The higher your aims and goals, the better. Never limit yourself in any way. Simply know that you can accomplish anything that you set out to do because you are drawing your help and strength from Me, and there is no such thing as defeat or failure. Whatever has My hallmark on it is bound to suceed, and only the highest results can come from it. Therefore keep your consciousness raised, get into tune with all life and behold the most wonderful results. You cannot expect these results unless you are in rhythm with the highest good within you, can flow freely with all that is going on and move through all that would hold you up. There are many things in life that would block you from reaching your goal. Sweep them all aside and refuse to contemplate failure for even one second. Simply know you can and will succeed, and success will be yours in everything you undertake.~ Eileen Caddy channeled message.

F.A.G friend and Oprah Show guest Dominic Cappello was at the opening of the Railyard with friends last week!....Congrats to our pal GOV Richardson and our NM friends for making this HUGE project a reality- a big F.A.G shout out to Uncle Hector and gang for believing in the Guadalupe district!
If we want respect for our opinions, we need to offer respect for others’ ideas as well. No one can hear anyone else if they are certain that their way is the only way. Discussion and debate cannot lead to the highest good if no one is willing to see other points of view. Outright rejection of viewpoints that differ from yours can only lead to a stalemate. When trying to change the minds of others, we need to listen to everything they are saying and all that lies behind it. We then need to figure out the language and symbols that will reach them. By understanding those whose opinion you want to sway today, you may gain a greater understanding of the entire situation, which will lead to the most satisfying resolution....from the fabulousdailyom once again....
When you second guess yourself and go against what you know to be your truth, you can easily go off course because you are no longer following your inner compass. By looking inside yourself for the answers to your life’s questions, you are consulting your best guide. Only you can know the how’s and why’s of your life. The answers that you seek can be found when you start answering your own questions.....ahh the fabulousdailyom....

Life is a journey comprised of many steps on our personal path that takes us down a winding road of constant evolution. And each day, we are provided with a myriad of opportunities that can allow us to transform into our next best selves. One moment we are presented with an opportunity to react differently when yet another someone in our life rubs us the wrong way; on another day we may find ourselves wanting to walk away from a particular circumstance but are not sure if we can. Eventually, we may find ourselves stuck in a rut that we can never seem to get out of. We may even make the same choices over and over again because we don’t know how to choose otherwise. Rather than moving us forward, our personal paths may take us in a seemingly never-ending circle where our actions and choices lead us nowhere but to where we’ve already been. It is during these moments that awareness can be the first step to change.
Awareness is when we are able to realize what we are doing. We observe ourselves, noticing our reactions, actions, and choices as if we were a detached viewer. Awareness is the first step to change because we can’t make a change unless we are aware that one needs to be made in the first place. We can then begin understanding why we are doing what we are doing. Afterward, it becomes difficult not to change because we are no longer asleep to the truth behind our behaviors. We also begin to realize that, just as much as we are the root source behind the causes for our behaviors, we are also the originator for any changes that we want to happen.
There is a freedom that comes with awareness. Rather than thinking that we are stuck in a repetitive cycle where there is no escape, we begin to see that we very much play a hand in creating our lives. Whether we are aware of them or not, our behaviors and choices are always ours to make. Our past and our present no longer have to dictate our future when we choose to be aware. We are then free to move beyond our old limits, make new choices, and take new actions. With awareness, our paths can’t help but wind us forward in our lives while paving the way for new experiences and new ways of being. It is through awareness that we can continue to consciously evolve. Thefabulousdailyom speaks.
Awareness can be inspired by a person- a book- a moment in meditation or a simple thought to witness our own life. I know I ran through most of my 40 some odd years on emotion and emotional reaction's- after seeking help for this through various outlets, a therapist, a good doc, reiki, massage, life coach and silent meditation, I am much more aware of my life and all that it encompasses....freedom? yes, really LIVING?....absolutley....now my life takes on a WHOLE new perspective- the past is just that, the past....lessons WELL learned....Creation for the new me is a step away in what is now THIS MOMENT.... enjoy your TUESDAY- Dave
Look for my new interview with Bello Lifestyle Magazine-I will have a posting this week~
That has been my personal relationship with God--a connection with the powerful, loving, wise energy in all of us, in all creation. It is the life force itself. We can all have contact with it each moment in our lives, but it takes commitment and
practice. We must be willing to move through all our deepest fears, doubts, and misunderstandings. ~Shakti Gawain

Devotion is cultivated from shared confidences, trust, and caring about each other’s feelings. When loyalty and devotion become part of the partnership equation, an energetic bond forms that continuously nurtures both partners. This bond provides a connection that links us mentally and spiritually even when we’re physically apart. When we look at our partnerships today, we are filled with gratitude for the loyalty that nurtures us and makes partnership a spiritual experience.

Every time we use our voices, we send our energetic imprint out into the universe and to the people around us. And, like the words that we use when we speak to people, our voices can communicate what we are feeling, what we desire, and what we really mean. There is no hiding our truth that can be felt through the sound of our voices. Timidity, desire, pain, and love can all be expressed and felt through the human voice. Our voices also have the power to heal, to hurt, to love, and to transform others. When we are aware of the impact our voices can have, we can consciously choose what we are expressing. Remember that what you communicate when you speak goes beyond words. Take responsibility for the power your voice has to impact the space and the people around you, and let your voice be a sound that creates harmony and compassion in the universe...and the fabulousdailyom speaks to us again.....HARMONIZE with the fabulous.....

Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow
by Elizabeth Lesser
“If we can stay awake when our lives are changing, secrets will be revealed to us—secrets about ourselves, about the nature of life, and about the eternal source of happiness and peace that is always available, always renewable, already within us.”
During times of transition, amid everyday stress, and even when we face seemingly insurmountable adversity, life offers us a choice: to turn away from change or to embrace it; to shut down or to be broken open and transformed. In the more than twenty-five years since she cofounded the Omega Institute—now the world’s largest personal-growth and spiritual retreat center—Elizabeth Lesser has been an intimate witness to the ways in which human beings deal with change, loss, and difficulty. She herself has struggled to submit to what she calls the “Phoenix Process”— allowing herself to be broken open in order to rise like the mythical bird from the ashes of past mistakes and suffering.
In this beautifully written, often funny, and always inspiring book, Lesser has gathered together true stories about ordinary people who by design or disaster decided to step boldly into a fuller life. Here are profoundly moving narratives of fears overcome and risks taken; of hard times and difficult passages; of betrayal, divorce, sickness, and death; and of the day-to-day challenges of raising children, earning a living, and growing older. By sharing her own most human traits, Lesser helps us feel less lonely in our own struggles, and more optimistic about the possibility of transformation. Broken Open also introduces us to some of the world’s greatest spiritual teachers—both ancient and living—and imparts the wisdom of various traditions, from Buddhist meditation to Sufi dance, and from Christian prayer to contemporary psychotherapy. Eminently practical, Lesser provides tools to support us in our quest for a clearer sense of purpose and a new passion for life.
Broken Open is not only a testament to the inner richness and potential of every life but also a deeply trustworthy guide to the dynamics of healing and growth—how we resist and how we surrender, how we stay stuck and how we grow, and how we can turn misfortune into insight, and grief into joy. It helps us to discover within ourselves a fearless heart, a clear mind, and a shining soul.
Reiki: Healing Hands [CD]
by Anuvida & Nik Tyndall
Anuvida and Nik Tyndall are two German composer-musicians who collaborated on this project while on retreat in India. Anuvida plays his own invention, a microphoned-and-strung table-zither-harp sort of thing called a kiboe. He provides the soft strumming and plucking, and Nik Tyndall handles the ambient synthesizers.....
The result, Reiki: Healing Hands, has become a classic of the genre. Almost supernatural in its ability to create a soothing sense of timeless space for the listener, the album's combination of repetitive, thoughtful string plucking and strumming; trickling water sounds; and droning electronic washes creates a feeling of slowing down, as if one is continually awakening, or coming through a forest clearing into a wide-open moonlit space filled with fellow travelers in quiet rapture.
Love is something you and I must have. We must have it because our spirit feeds upon it. We must have it because without it we become weak and faint. Without love our self-esteem weakens. Without it our courage fails. Without love we can no longer look confidently at the world. We turn inward and begin to feed upon our own personalities, and little by little we destroy ourselves. With it we are creative.
With it we march tirelessly. With it,and with it alone,we are able to sacrifice for others. ~Chief Dan George
Trust and confidence make spontaneity possible, for without them fear would stop you in your tracks. Instead, you can let yourself be caught up in the natural flow of universal energy, like falling backwards with arms outstretched into a deep and swiftly flowing river. You feel as if you are part of the river, and yet distinct. You can see what is coming, and can trust that the current will take you effortlessly to the right place at the perfect time. You can experience the freedom of trust as you go through your day by just deciding that everything will work out for the best. Your body can release any tension, and your mind will be free to focus on the world around you rather than the worry and frustration in your head. As you reflect on your day at its end, you may see that things worked out in ways you could not have foreseen. For example, what may have seemed like a delay actually kept you from being caught in a storm. When we trust our feelings of connection with universal flow, we are free to be spontaneous today.......a perfect reminder from the fabulousdailyom......FEEL the FLOW of the LIFE Force as you engage your heart and mind in every encounter....every thought....all is good. xo David
